You may have noticed barrier fencing and signage around parts of the stormwater drain through Tom Price. Following preliminary water sampling prior to the Shire proposing to undertake some clean-up activities, those first tests have shown a high level of bacteria ( including E. coli) in parts of the drain alongside the Tom Price skate park and hotel, as well as downstream of the Primary School to the footbridge in the concrete drain. The issue is currently being addressed and access to these areas has been fenced off, as further testing takes place. Please refrain from entering these areas and ensure your children are advised not to play within the vicinity of the drain areas.
