Safety and Security at Onslow Airport

Your safety is our priority. We follow strict government protocols to ensure a secure and safe environment for all passengers and visitors.

  • Passenger Screening: Conducted to federal standards using x-ray machines, walk-through and handheld metal detectors, plus random explosive trace detection checks. Checked baggage is screened in line with government regulations.
  • CCTV: Operates throughout the terminal, car park, and airport precinct.
  • Unattended Items: Luggage, boxes, or similar items must not be left unattended anywhere in the airport. All unattended items will be treated as suspicious and should be reported immediately to Airport Security staff. Ensure your luggage is clearly labelled with your name and destination—airline tags are available in the departure terminal.
  • Dangerous Goods: Items or substances that could endanger passengers or an aircraft are prohibited. Contact your airline directly for details on restricted items.
  • Inappropriate Jokes, Comments & Suspicious Behaviour
Any comment—joking or otherwise—about the possession or knowledge of a weapon or explosive device is taken seriously. This can result in prosecution, refusal by the airline to carry you, and immediate removal from the airport terminal. Police may be called.
  • Abusive, Intoxicated, or Disruptive Passengers
Passengers who appear intoxicated, behave aggressively, act abusively toward others, or display threatening or disorderly conduct may be refused boarding or removed from the aircraft. In serious cases, you will be removed from the terminal and the police will be called.

While some measures may seem inconvenient, they are in place to protect everyone. Please follow the directions of screening officers, airport operations staff, and airline officials.
