Access and Inclusion Plan review
All levels of government develop Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIP) to outline how their communities can better access its services, premises and facilities, and how it will support increased opportunities for inclusion and independence. This is a requirement of the Disability Services Act 1993.
Having good access benefits everyone, not just people living with disability but also their families and carers, the elderly, people from different cultures and where English isn’t their first language, those struggling with stairs and door handles as well as people using prams.
The DAIP assists in planning for improvements that help the whole community.
