2025 Local Government Ordinary Election - Postal Vote

The 2025 Shire of Ashburton Ordinary Local Government Election is being held on Saturday 18 October 2025.Council resolved on 18 February 2025 for the Western Australian Electoral Commissioner to be responsible for the conduct of this election and the method of the election is to be by postal vote.

Election Vacancies

Five Councillor vacancies will be available for this election in the following Wards.

Key Dates

Candidate nominations Close: 4 September 2025, 4:00pm.

Replacement Voting Packages

If you are an Elector in either the Paraburdoo or Tom Price wards and you have not received or you have lost your postal voting package, replacement packages can be obtained, as follows –

• For the Tom Price Ward - Visit the Shire’s Tom Price Administration Office, 246 Poinciana Street, Tom Price between 9:00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
• For the Paraburdoo Ward – Visit the Paraburdoo Library (rear of the Ashburton Hall), Ashburton Avenue, Paraburdoo between 9:00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday, or on Saturdays (excluding election day) between 10;00am and 12:00pm.

Returning Officer

The Western Australian Electoral Commissioner has appointed Louise Foppoli, as the Returning Officer for the 2025 Shire of Ashburton Ordinary Election.

The Returning Officer will be available to accept nominations at the:

• Paraburdoo Library on 29 August 2025 between 10:00am and 2;00pm;
• Pannawonica Library on 2 September between 11;00am and 1:30pm
• Shire of Ashburton Tom Price Administration Office - 2:00pm to 4:00pm on 4 September 2025.
