National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering.

It recognises the contribution of millions of volunteers across the country and invites everyone to discover how giving their time and talents can create connection, purpose, and stronger communities. This year's theme, Your Year to Volunteer honours the contributions of volunteers and invites people across Australia to make 2026 a year of meaningful involvement, in ways that work for them. This year is a moment to thank those who already give their time and to invite others to discover how volunteering can create connection, purpose, and lasting positive change.

For NVW26, we’re celebrating the incredible hard work and dedication of the tireless volunteers in our Ashburton community with a volunteer showcase. Keep reading to join us in celebrating the generosity of our community volunteers!

Tania Carling & the Community Garden | Tom Price

Tania and the Community Garden Committee have worked tirelessly over the last 5 years to develop the garden from nothing but a dust bowl to a vibrant, green, welcoming community space open to the whole community to enjoy. The garden is so much more than just plants and produce- It is a place to connect, be calm and enjoy the peaceful environment the committee has created. Congratulations to Tania and her hardworking team on all you have done to make this a beautiful space and for the contribution you continue to make to Tom Price.
