Residents in Tom Price, Paraburdoo and Onslow are advised that Shire Swimming Pools will close after 31 May.
Each town had a great year of achievements, including:
- Onslow Aquatic Centre recording its busiest season since its opening in 2017
- Vic Hayton Memorial Swimming Pool in Tom Price voted one of the top 10 pools in Australia by The Guardian
- Hosting the 20km Virtual Rottnest Channel Swim in both Onslow and Tom Price in February 2022
- Over $140,000 capital projects completed, including CCTV upgrades at all pools
- School carnivals, Education Department Interm and VacSwim learn to swim programs
All three pools also received a score over 98% after safety audits were undertaken by the Royal Life Saving Society on behalf of Local Government Insurance Services.
Shire Swimming Pool staff extend their thanks to residents and visitors of the Shire who supported all initiatives across the season and followed all safety rules and regulations.
Pools will reopen for the 2022/23 season in September 2022.
