The Shire of Ashburton welcomes Ty Matson to the role of Director People and Place.
Mr. Matson joins the Shire’s Executive Leadership Team with a wealth of experience and an understanding our diverse and unique region, having grown up in Paraburdoo and returning to Tom Price and Onslow for work in previous roles.
Ty holds a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology) degree, Post Graduate Diploma Environmental Health, Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and Diploma in Public Safety. He demonstrated sound understanding of local government principles having worked in the industry for the past six years. Prior to that, Mr. Matson worked at the Department of Environmental Regulations and the Department of Parks and Wildlife.
He is also passionate about community values and is looking forward to getting to know the communities across each of our towns, as well as providing leadership and mentorship to the People and Place directorate.
Ty will commence at the Shire of Ashburton in January 2022.
