Shire of Ashburton and World Fuel Partner to Install New 24/7 Self-Service Avgas Facility at Onslow Airport

The Shire of Ashburton, in partnership with World Fuel, is pleased to announce the completion of a new Aviation Gasoline (Avgas) tank and self-service bowser at Onslow Airport. This new facility is now fully operational and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing essential fuel access to small, piston-engine aircraft.

The new Avgas facility accepts World Fuel carnet cards, as well as Visa and Mastercard transactions via a smartphone app, and can be accessed from Onslow Airport’s general aviation (security-controlled) apron. This development significantly enhances the accessibility of Onslow, boosting the region’s commercial, tourism, and emergency response capabilities.

Avgas is a high-octane fuel crucial for small aircraft, ensuring timely and reliable access to regional and remote communities. By introducing this 24/7 facility, the Shire of Ashburton is supporting the continued growth and development of the local aviation sector.

World Fuel, a global leader in aviation fuel supply, has been instrumental in this project, reflecting its commitment to Australia’s northwestern aviation community. The Shire of Ashburton is proud to collaborate on this important infrastructure, which highlights both organisations' dedication to enhancing regional aviation services and supporting economic development across the Pilbara.
