Plan ahead to avoid delays

Heavy rain fall is predicted in the region which may cause flash flooding and unpredictable levels in floodway’s and river crossings.

Network inspectors are currently assessing road conditions

If you need to drive please consider the following:

Travel plans may need to be reconsidered due to unfavourable road conditions.

If it’s raining heavily and you can’t see, pull over and park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears.

Be alert and watch for hazards on the road including stray cattle and debris.

Take care at crossings and floodways as river levels may rise rapidly.

Do not drive into water of unknown depth or velocity.

Exercise caution in flooded areas and take care when driving on gravel roads. Surfaces may be slippery or muddy and vehicles could become bogged.
