Road Closure - Banjima Drive

Published on Monday, 7 July 2014 at 12:00:00 AM

Please be advised that the road closure to allow for sealing works on Banjima Drive has been rescheduled to commence on Wednesday 9 July and will take 3 to 4 days to complete.

During the sealing works Banjima Drive will be closed to through traffic from the Karijini Drive intersection  to the Weano Road intersection. Access to the water point will be provided. Access to the Park will be via the east access road off Karijini Drive only during this time.

Your co-operation and patience during this time would be appreciated as the seal treatment does require the exclusion of traffic.

It is intended to position variable message board signs to the east and west of the west entrance (Banjima Drive) off Karijini Drive and at the 26Km mark at the junction of the Weano Road/east-west road to the Information Centre.

It is important for tour operators to access Weano Gorge or the Eco Retreat via the detour to the east Park access road and thence along the east-west connecting road.

Eco Retreat should advise any visitors that access will be via the detour to the east Park access and thence the east-west road.

The Karijini National Park visitors information centre should advise visitors of the detour.

Access for any movement of heavy plant and equipment via the Mt Bruce Road during this time will be an exception.

All emergency services have access via the detour to the east Park access road and thence along the east-west connecting road or in exceptional circumstances through the road sealing works.

All efforts to open the road as quickly as possible will be made.

Your cooperation and patience during these important works is appreciated.
