The Shire of Ashburton is working with Parks and Wildlife Service, Pilbara following a reported crocodile sighting in Onslow.

Warning signs are being installed and community members are urged to be vigilant.

Signage will remain in place in relevant popular coastal areas over the coming days while the situation is monitored.

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions will continue to respond to any reported sightings and if you see a crocodile in the area please contact their Karratha office on 9182 2000.

While crocodiles aren’t common in the Pilbara, they do sometimes frequent the region. It is possible the crocodile has moved on, but people should continue to be vigilant.
