The Premier, Colin Barnett visited Onslow today to announce a suite of projects being planned for the town.
After flying to Onslow in the morning, the Premier was given a tour of the Onslow Airport by Shire President Kerry White and CEO Neil Hartley.
“It was a great opportunity for the Premier to see for himself the progress being made at the airport including the terminal, runway and associated infrastructure,” Cr White said.
After a tour of the town and morning tea with the Chamber of Commerce, the Premier announced the timeline for 20 major social and community infrastructure projects, funded by Chevron and the State Government, including a new hospital, swimming pool, high school, power and water upgrades and the Onslow Ring Road. He also confirmed the government’s support for $13m to be funded from the Onslow Infrastructure Fund, to meet the finalisation costs of the Onslow Airport.
The Premier unveiled a sign detailing the projects, to be located opposite the Sun Chalets, which will show residents and visitors alike all that is going in Onslow.
