Effective from today, due to staff shortages, the Vic Hayton Memorial Pool in Tom Price will be closed on Tuesdays until further notice. The Paraburdoo Swimming Pool will close on Thursdays.
The new times are in place until new pool staff can be recruited, CEO Neil Hartley said.
“The health and safety of our staff and pool patrons is paramount,” Mr Hartley said.
“The decision to close the pools one day a week is unfortunate but I’m sure everyone can appreciate that health and safety outweighs the inconvenience of reduced opening hours.
“We have begun recruiting and as soon as new staff are found the pools will reopen to the normal roster.
“We have chosen the quietest days at each pool and we hope that the closure will only have minimal impact on pool users.”
