This year’s Passion of the Pilbara kicks off on Friday night, 8 September, at the Onslow Sport’s Club, with a lineup of great entertainment to set the festival vibe.  MC Sean Choolburra will keep the crowd laughing while ‘Fingers’ Mitchell Cullen, The Merindas and Paraphernallia will impress with their musical talent.

Saturday morning see’s the return of the popular culinary showcase in the community garden, with chef superstars Pete Manifis, Anna Gare and Jesse Blake cooking up a variety of brunch delights.  Their skills will continue to be on display throughout the day as they host a number of demonstrations and workshops in the BHP Culinary Zone.

Thalanyji Oval will be transformed into festival central, with plenty of stalls, activities, food and free rides.  Kids can try their hand at winning some great prizes by participating in the KHB Passport Challenge, and have fun in the Kids Zone.  Roving entertainers will keep the festival vibe alive, with plenty to see and do at every time of the day.

There will be loads of action at the BHP Fishbowl, with skating under lights on Friday and the Freestyle Now crew running workshops and comps on Saturday.   With plenty of great prizes up for grabs including scooters, helmets and Bluetooth speakers, it will be a hive of activity for skateboarders, scooter riders and BMX.

Entertainment will run throughout the day on the main Chevron stage with The Merindas, KC Smalltown, Fitzroy Express and Mikey Smith keeping the festival alive with some really great music.

As the sun sets on Saturday evening, the very talented Adam Harvey and Beccy Cole will take to the stage and have the town dancing the night away.

This year also introduces the Thevenard Island Open Day on Sunday 10 September, where people can experience the beautiful Thevenard Island at a special festival price.  Tickets include return ferry, activities such as snorkeling, beach volleyball and paddle boarding as well as a BBQ lunch cooked by the POP celebrity chef’s.   Plenty of fun and activities, all to the great tunes of Mikey Smith.   What a perfect way to end the POP Festival weekend.

Limited tickets to the Thevenard Open Day are available, so don’t miss out!  Tickets can be booked via emailing [email protected]
