Mosquito Fogging in Paraburdoo

Published on Thursday, 1 October 2015 at 12:00:00 AM

It has come to the attention of the Shire that a number of residents in Paraburdoo have concerns regarding the potential impacts of the mosquito fogging that was scheduled to start there this week.

In order to provide the Shire with sufficient time to prepare a more detailed education program regarding mosquitos, the impacts of fogging and the responsibilities of the Shire and residents, the scheduled fogging within the residential areas of Paraburdoo will be suspended until further notice.

Known mosquito breeding sites and the commercial areas outside of the residential areas of town will however be fogged to reduce the impact of the mosquitos.

The Shire will also undertake further larviciding of breeding areas which should continue to aid in reducing the number of adult mosquitos.  Further information about mosquitos and the impacts of fogging will be provided to residents prior to any fogging taking place within the residential areas of the town.
