Free Lung Cancer Screening is coming to Paraburdoo and Tom Price

The 'Heart of Australia' Mobile Lung Cancer Screening Clinic is visiting our region this August as part of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, a free service that could save lives.

If you're aged 50 to 70 and currently smoke, used to smoke, or quit within the last 10 years, you may be eligible for a free low-dose CT scan to check your lung health.

President Smith encourages residents to utilise the program.
“The Shire of Ashburton proudly welcomes Heart of Australia to our region. This free mobile health service offers life-saving lung screening for eligible individuals, including smokers aged 50-70, (referral required). I’ve already booked my appointment and strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this vital service while it’s here. Early detection saves lives, let’s prioritise our health, together,” said President Smith.

Next Thursday, August 14, the service will be in Paraburdoo, then travelling to Tom Price for Friday, August 15.

What you need to do:
1.Book an appointment with your GP
2. Ask for a referral to the National Lung Cancer Screening Program
3. Attend your scan when the mobile clinic visits.
Your GP will help you arrange an appointment with the Heart of Australia team.

The closest alternative locations for this type of screening are in Port Hedland or Perth, so don’t miss this opportunity to access it locally and contact your GP today!
