Published on Tuesday, 2 December 2025 at 8:33:55 AM

To protect threatened flatback turtle nests that have been heavily predated by foxes in recent years, a fox ground shoot will take place south-west of Onslow townsite.
📅 Dates: Monday 8 December – Sunday 14 December 2025
🕗 Time: 8:00pm – 4:00am nightly
📍 Location: Onslow Back Beach and dune system

The following areas will be closed to the public during shoot times:
🚫 Onslow Back Beach
🚫 Four Mile Creek
🚫 Seaview Drive

Foxes have predated 55% of flatback turtle nests over the past two years.
This action is critical to protect these threatened marine turtles.

A licensed pest management technician will conduct the shoot safely and humanely. All activities will occur away from the Onslow townsite.
