The Shire of Ashburton recently received a grant for the installation of Beach Emergency Number signage in Onslow.

The coding system aims to improve emergency response times by installing signs with unique codes at beach access points.

These signs provide specific location information which is vital when emergency services are deployed in the event of a shark sighting, bite, or other beach emergency.

The signs are now located in the following locations:

  • Beadon Creek – Onslow Marina
  • Beadon Creek – Onslow Groyne
  • Sunrise Beach – Boat Ramp
  • Sunrise Beach – ANZAC Memorial
  • Sunset Beach – Salt Jetty
  • 4 Mile Creek – 4 Mile Boat Ramp
  • Robe River Bridge – 24 Hour stop
  • Yannarie River Bridge – 24 Hour stop
  • Deep Dale Pannawonica – virtual
