Are you cyclone ready?
With an average of five cyclones each season from November to April, the coastline between Exmouth and Broome is one of the most cyclone-prone areas in Australia.
Now is the perfect time to start preparing your home and family for the season. Not all cyclones are the same, some may be minor, while others can be highly destructive.
We encourage residents to spend time tidying up their yards and properties to minimise potential damage.
Top tips for getting your yard cyclone ready:
•Clear loose items from gardens, patios and balconies.
• Trim trees and remove dead branches.
• Secure outdoor furniture, equipment, boats and trailers.
• Ensure gutters and drains are clear.
