Community groups, local not-for-profit organisations and sporting clubs are encouraged to apply for funding as the Shire of Ashburton Community Services Grants program opens for applications.

Applicants can apply more than once each financial year if the total amount is less than $2,500. This includes cash and support such as donated venue hire.

Community and sporting groups, and local not-for-profit organisations have a positive impact and make a huge contribution to the liveability of our towns and the wellbeing of our community members.

Previous recipients of the community funding initiative include North Tom Price and Onslow Primary School P&C, Onslow Men’s Shed, Paraburdoo Toy Library, Paraburdoo Amateur Swimming Club, Tom Price Motor Sport Club, Tom Price Swim Club and Nameless Family Play Group.

The grants are competitive and decisions to fund part or all of a request are based on the extent to which the project directly benefits Ashburton residents and other funding sources available to that project.

In round two of 2020/21, the Grant allowed:

  • Pannawonica P&C Association to build a Sensory Footpath for the Early Child Education Area
  • Tom Price Netball Association with the North West Netball Tournament
  • Tom Price Women’s Softball Association with 2021 Northwest Women’s Softball Championships
  • Tom Price BMX with the 2021 North West Super Series in Tom Price
  • North Tom Price Primary School P&C with Early Childhood Rugs
  • Paraburdoo Horse & Pony Club with Horse Paddock Fencing

  • Karingal Neighbourhood Centre with YUCK Circus
  • Tom Price Motorcycle Club with Club equipment
  • Onslow Sports Club with NAIDOC Darts Competition

In addition to the Community Support Grants, the Shire also offer Small Assistance Donations for up to $500 per financial year.
