Ashburton Tourism Champion Program
The Ashburton Tourism Champions Mentoring Program has been designed for tourism businesses based in the Shire of Ashburton to assist in creating a vibrant community of tourism, whilst supporting understanding in delivering great tourism experiences and developing marketing capability in the tourism industry.
The Mentoring Program has been developed by Distinctly Tourism Management (DTM) who have a significant track record in assisting tourism businesses to create sustainable tourism experiences and connect them to the travel industry.
Successful, experience-based tourism products provide visitors and marketing organisations with reasons to talk about and promote your business – it's all about attracting more customers through working together!
The Tourism Champions Program is perfect for:
- brand new or newly established tourism business and need help to grow your general marketing capability.
- existing tourism business looking to diversify your market reach and increase business through connecting with tourism industry partnerships
- community members who have a tourism event idea and need to know how to build tourism awareness
The program provides expert business support and industry mentoring to develop your business skills, entrepreneurship and tourism capability. There are two industry streams, suited to businesses at different stages of growth. This is a fully funded program. The Shire of Ashburton has committed significant funds to facilitate this program, which is valued at $3,600 per business in support of our local tourism industry.
How do I sign up?
A limited number of places are available, and applications will be assessed via a competitive Expression of Interest (EOI) process. Applications are NOW OPEN.
To be eligible, all prospective candidates must currently own, operate or manage a tourism business in the Shire of Ashburton.
Complete the Expression of Interest application form and submit by 6pm, Sunday 1st March 2020 by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
