The Shire is pleased to announce a $150,000 sponsorship contribution, delivered through a combined investment by the Shire and the Rio Tinto Inspire Community Partnership, in support of the 2026 Jarndunmunha (Nameless) Festival to be held in Tom Price.

The Jarndunmunha Festival, historically known as the Nameless Festival, has been an integral part of the Tom Price community since 1969, playing a significant role in bringing residents together through celebration, culture and community spirit. Following its cancellation in 2020 due to COVID‑19, the festival made a welcome return in 2022. Unfortunately, the event was unable to proceed in 2023 and 2024 due to the absence of a formal committee.

The return of the festival in 2026 is made possible by the dedication and passion of local community members who have come together to form a new Jarndunmunha Festival Committee.

The Shire is excited to be supporting community connection, local pride and regional activation through the 2026 festival, while also providing opportunities for local businesses, artists and community groups to be involved.

Shire President Audra Smith welcomed the sponsorship and the opportunity to see the Festival return as an integral event for Tom Price and the wider Pilbara region.

“It is fantastic to see the Jarndunmunha (Nameless) Festival return in 2026. This event is a deeply valued part of Tom Price’s history and provides an important opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the town we live and work in.

“It is also incredibly encouraging to see community members stepping up to form a committee and drive the delivery of this event, honouring its roots. I look forward to seeing the range of activations the committee will bring to life, highlighting what makes Tom Price such a unique and vibrant place, and creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike,” said President Smith.

The Jardunmunha Committee look forward to the return of the event with the aim to be more community driven than ever.

“The Jarndunmunha Festival Committee welcomes the Shire of Ashburton’s sponsorship support, which is helping bring this much‑loved festival back in 2026 under its rightful name. Embracing the theme Everything Old is New Again, we’re proud to deliver a celebration that honours Culture, Country and community, while inviting locals and visitors alike to be part of Jarndunmunha’s next chapter.”

The festival will be held in early August. Visit the Jardunmunha Festival Facebook page for timely updates.
