Onslow Town Centre Transformation Underway
The Shire of Ashburton, in partnership with the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project, is proud to announce the highly anticipated Onslow Town Centre Upgrade. This initiative coincides with the 100-year anniversary of Onslow’s relocation from Old Onslow to its current site.
Following a competitive procurement process, Ertech has been awarded the construction contract. Stage 1 of the works are scheduled to commence 16 June 2025 with completion expected by the end of the year.
This significant project reflects a shared commitment to enhancing Onslow’s liveability and revitalising its streetscape, transforming the area into a welcoming, accessible, and vibrant space for locals and visitors alike.
President Audra Smith welcomed the milestone and the support of the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project.
“This is more than just a streetscape upgrade – it’s an investment in Onslow’s future. As we celebrate 100 years since the town’s relocation, it’s a proud moment to look ahead with a renewed sense of place and purpose. Council is committed to delivering community-led projects that honour Onslow’s unique character while supporting growth, tourism, and connection.
“We thank our residents, businesses and visitors for their patience during this exciting transformation. The revitalised Onslow Town Centre will be something we can all be proud of for generations to come,” stated President Smith.
Wheatstone Project Production Manager Brett McCarthy said Chevron was pleased to partner with the Shire in the revitalisation of the Onslow Town Centre.
“Chevron has an ongoing commitment to the Onslow community. Onslow has undergone significant transformation in recent years and these works will continue to provide important improvements that will benefit the Onslow community, local businesses and visitors to our town.”
