Thank you, Onslow 💙
Following Tropical Cyclone Narelle, the Shire of Ashburton would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Onslow community.
Your preparedness leading up to the event, along with your cooperation in following emergency advice and messaging, played a significant role in reducing impacts across the town. As a result, Onslow experienced minimal damage, which is a credit to the community’s diligence and calm response during challenging conditions.
We would also like to acknowledge the outstanding on ground support from local contractors who responded swiftly and worked closely with the Shire to prioritise and deliver urgent works. Thank you Ertech and Mineral Resources for your professionalism and responsiveness. This included critical works at the Onslow Airport, enabling it to reopen after just one day, resolving urgent electrical issues to ensure staff could return safely to work, and maintaining the Main Street to be open and operational.
A huge thank you to our Onslow Shire staff on the ground, with special recognition to the Waste Team, who have gone above and beyond, working extended hours to support the clean up effort. Their commitment, hard work and willingness to step up are making a real difference for our community.
Thank you again, Onslow, for your resilience and preparation, these efforts have not gone unnoticed.
As we continue the recovery phase, please follow official advice regarding the current water supply and changing conditions.
Further updates will be shared on our social media and website as they become available.
