The Shire of Ashburton would like to sincerely thank the Onslow community for the outstanding efforts shown in preparing for Cyclone Mitchell.
The level of preparedness across the township was commendable and reflects the strong sense of cooperation, resilience and community spirit in the lead-up to the event.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to community members and contractors, including Munro Contracting, ERTech, and the Shire of Ashburton Town Maintenance Officers, whose combined efforts helped return the town to order quickly following the system.
The Shire further acknowledges and thanks our Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services volunteers, Rachael from the Onslow Store, our resource partners, the Onslow Health Campus staff, and the Western Australia Police Force, all of who contributed to preparation activities and community support, ensuring Onslow was as prepared as possible ahead of Cyclone Mitchell’s passing.
