Shire of Ashburton residents and visitors are advised of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ (DBCA) upcoming aerial burning program. These burns are essential for preserving our native flora by encouraging regeneration and will assist with bushfire mitigation ahead of the 2027 bushfire season.
The program will run from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 June 2026 and will result in closed sections of Roebourne-Wittenoom Road (Python Pool section). During this time, electronic signage will be in place and DBCA stationed at each end of road advising of these closures.
All vehicles are asked to obey this signage for their own safety and to support the safe delivery of the burning program.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and thank you for your understanding as we work to preserve our landscape and keep our communities safe.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the program, please contact the Karratha DBCA Office on 9182 2000.
