The Ashburton Art Awards is BACK for 2026, celebrating creativity, culture, and artistic talent across the Shire of Ashburton's four towns. Open to emerging and established artists, the Awards provide a platform to showcase diverse works that reflect our unique region, stories and perspectives.
With a public exhibition, prize categories and a special Awards Night, the Ashburton Art Awards are a highlight on the local arts calendar, bringing community, creativity and conversation together in one inspiring space.

This special category focuses on and represents the unique character and spirit of the towns within the Shire of Ashburton; Onslow, Pannawonica, Paraburdoo and Tom Price. We invite artists to depict scenes, landmarks, and moments that represent the heart of their community.

This category is open to artworks created by First Nations artists. We welcome all forms of artistic expression, celebrating the creativity and perspectives of Indigenous communities. This is an opportunity to showcase your unique voice and cultural heritage through your art.

Key Dates
- Entries Open | 9:00am Monday, 1 April 2026. If you are submitting two artworks, you must complete two separate entry forms.
- Online Entries Close | 5pm Sunday, 19 July 2026
- Completed artwork to be delivered to your local Library | Monday 3 August 2026 – Wednesday 5 August 2026 (further information to be released)
- Awards Night in Tom Price | Friday, 11 September 2026
- Exhibition dates | Friday, 11 September 2026 – Sunday, 20 September 2026
- Artist to collect their artworks from local Library | To be confirmed
How to Enter
Each artist is allowed to submit two (2) entries. Entries must not have been previously submitted to the 2024 or 2025 Ashburton Art Awards. If you wish to submit a second entry, please complete a separate form. Multiple entries within one form will be disregarded.

Awards Night
The Awards Night will be held on Friday, 11 September 2026 in Tom Price. Tickets are free for the artist and a plus one of their choosing (entrants in the Youth Category are entitled to a plus two).
