Tom Price was alive with activity, fun and excitement over the weekend of 8th and 9th of August for the 2014 Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival.

The festivities launched with the “Airing of the Quilts” in Doug Talbot Park on Wednesday 6 August.    The collection of beautiful quilts was hung in trees while residents enjoyed an evening picnic and live music.  The family fun began on Friday night with the Tom Price town centre and Doug Talbot Park alive with stalls, food and rides.  Families were kept entertained with Illusionists Adam & Selena and a concert performance by Shannon Noll.

On Saturday morning 15 entrants took part in the annual Street Parade, with over 450 participants and more than 1000 residents bringing the streets of Tom Price alive. Tom Price SAFE won best Community Group float, Tom Price Primary won best School float, and Tom Price Emergency Service CADETS won the overall prize.

Festivities on Saturday also featured local performances by Tom Price Gymnastics, North Tom Price School Choir and Nintirri Centre’s “Gold Group” Op Shop Fashion Parade. The Mik Maks and the Polka Dot Company entertained the children on main stage with a variety of children’s songs and a disco.

The Wolfe Brothers and The Potbelleez entertained the adults on Saturday night, with a large crowd turning the town green into a mosh pit as festival-goers danced the night away.

Once again the volunteer committee did a spectacular job in putting the weekend together, dedicating a huge amount of time and effort into ensuring the festival’s success.
