Low water pressure will persist in Onslow as crews work to repair water infrastructure damaged during Cyclone Narelle.
Residents are asked to please continue avoiding all non-essential water use to help maintain supply within water storage tanks.
Repairs to a damaged water supply main will be protracted owing to extensive flooding and the need for complex earthworks. While water tendering is underway to support supply, reduced water pressure will persist as crews work to prevent any interruption to essential services.
Water Corporation and the Shire of Ashburton are also urging all non-essential travel to Onslow to be avoided at this time.
How residents can help:
• Switching off garden reticulation
• Avoiding hosing pavements and driveways
• Keeping showers to four minutes and avoiding baths, or minimising water use if essential
• Not filing swimming pools
• Avoiding the use of water using appliances, including washing machines
• Using a plug in the sink to capture rinse water for reuse
Further updates will be provided as work progresses. To report water supply issues, please contact Water Corporation on 13 13 75.
