Ian ‘Mossy’ Moss will kick off the Shire of Ashburton’s golden jubilee celebrations on June 11 in Tom Price.

Moss will take the stage as the headline act in Tom Price, on the back of his 2021 ‘ One Guitar, One Night Only’, acoustic tour.

The evening will launch 50th Anniversary events across the Shire, with celebrations being planned in each of the towns throughout the latter part the year.

Shire of Ashburton President Kerry White said Council is proud to celebrate 50 years as a Local Government authority with our residents, wider community and stakeholders.

“The first meeting of the Shire in its current boundary, taking in the towns of Tom Price, Onslow, Paraburdoo and Pannawonica, along with the previous Local Government areas of Ashburton and Tableland, convened on June 8, 1972”, acknowledged Councillor White.

“We are proud to be celebrating and recognising our achievements in our golden jubilee year and will be hosting events across all four towns so that we can mark this occasion with our community.

“Commencing in June with the arrival of Ian Moss in Tom Price, Council is excited to celebrate our 50 year history as a Shire and is looking forward to further announcements over the coming months.

Events across the Shire will continue to be announced throughout the upcoming months.
