Local Planning Strategy

Shire of Ashburton Draft Local Planning Strategy

The Shire of Ashburton has prepared a Draft Local Planning Strategy that provides the Shire’s land use and development vision for the next 10-15 years.  The Local Planning Strategy is a legislated requirement for every local government and will be Ashburton’s first local planning strategy.

The strategy considers future growth potential, particularly within the Onslow, Tom Price and Paraburdoo townsites and is structured in two parts;

  • Part 1 includes the strategic plans for the townsites and provides a range of opportunities and actions for implementation;
  • Part 2 is a Local Profile and context report containing the background reports and information supporting the strategic aims and objectives.
    (This document is too large to attach to the website, however please contact the Shire via townplanning@ashburton.wa.gov.au if you would like to have a copy made available via dropbox)

The local planning strategy is available for public viewing and comment until 4pm Friday 14 September 2018.   Your comments and suggestions will be an important test to ensure all relevant matters are considered, and to provide invaluable local insight.

A copy of the strategy may be inspected at the Shire Administration Offices at Tom Price, Paraburdoo, Onslow and Pannawonica.  Alternatively, you can download the strategy below.
