Shire sets new meeting dates

As of January 19 Shire of Ashburton Councillors will now hold their monthly meetings on a Tuesday, with the venue being rotated throughout the towns.

Shire President Kerry White said that while meetings have traditionally been held on the third Wednesday of each month, the decision was made to accommodate recent variations in working rosters for a number of councillors. These shift changes meant that a Wednesday meeting was no longer viable.

“The calendar of meetings for the coming year has been scheduled in consideration of the various rosters, with no significant operational impact to the administration of the Ordinary Meetings of Council.”

The dates and locations for the 2016 Ordinary Meetings of Council can be found below, with December’s meeting being the only exception and scheduled for a Friday.

Members of the public are welcome to attend Council Meetings, with a public question time held at the start of each meeting.  Information about submitting a public question can be found here.
