TOM PRICE PRE-SEASON FIRE PREVENTION WORKS

Published on Thursday, 16 August 2012 at 12:00:00 AM

There will be areas of bushland burnt out to help prevent the spread of bush fires during the summer months. These activities will occur on Sunday mornings. These burns usually last for 1-3 hours depending on the fuel load of the area being burnt. Burning times will vary according to weather on the day but usually they will commence around 9:00am on Sunday mornings.

While it would be ideal to notify every resident that these burns will take place near their homes, where the Brigades conduct this activity is purely dependant on the weather conditions that day and how many volunteers are available.

If you notice red and blue light activity near your house on these days please don’t panic as it will be the brigades preparing to do a prescribed burn. Please use this time while they prepare to get started to close your windows, turn off air conditioners and take any washing of the line.

The Brigades apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause residents.
