Local Government Elections

Local Government Ordinary Elections are held every two years on the third Saturday in October. Reforms in 2023 resulted in eight Elected Members and a Shire President representing the district. The Shire Presidents position is popularly elected by electors.

Elections, subject to a prior Council decision are generally conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission, and the postal voting method is used.

The next Ordinary Local Government Election is scheduled for 18 October 2025.
