As part of the Shire of Ashburton Bin Audit Program, all properties will have their general waste bin lid changed to a red lid to meet the Australian Standard for Mobile Waste Containers.
Some properties will simply need their lid changed, whilst others may have old general waste bins that are incompatible with the new red lids.
In these cases, properties will have their old bin removed and replaced with will a brand-new red lid general waste bin.
When your lid swap is due, please assist the Shire of Ashburton Waste Team by doing the following:
- Step 1: Present your general waste bin for collection from 6am as usual on your usual waste collection day
- Step 2: Leave your general waste bin out until the lid swap has been completed, even if your bin is empty
Residents are advised that only one bin per household will be replaced. If you require a second bin or currently pay for an additional bin, please contact Waste Services to arrange bin lid replacement.
