Civil works are well underway in three out of four project areas, as can be seen in the street breakdown below.
Crews have worked hard to achieve a significant milestone today where the first section of the underground network on Onslow Road (across from Barrada Estate) was energised and is now live. The second milestone achieved today is the first transformer located on Old Onslow Road south of Shanks has been energised and is now live.
Future milestones will be on completion of Project Cells commissioned (network live to the pillar). Horizon Power will provide adequate notification to property owners prior to changing from the old overhead cables to the new underground electrical assets (pillar to meter).
Horizon Power Manager Pilbara Network James Carney said: “We are working closely with our contractor Logsys to ensure that the delivery of works is on target with the planned schedule”.
