Onslow Community Boating Precinct advances using latest hydrography data collection

The Shire of Ashburton is pleased to be working with the Department of Transport WA as works advance at Onslow Community Boating Precinct.

Since Ertech commenced onsite in late October, considerable progress has been underway for earthworks and site establishment with the focus now on dredging for the new harbour basin, and the construction of the new boat ramp.

Using some of the latest technology for hydrographic projects, their survey drone boat can assess and monitor the project remotely with accuracy and safety in mind.

Community members and boating users are reminded that yellow buoys have been installed in the Creek to define the exclusion zone around the dredging work and to please keep to the east side of the yellow markers.

The existing boat ramp and jetty is still available while the construction of the new boat ramp is underway. Please ensure to park with consideration of the access and exit lanes, after launching your boat.

The project, funded by the Shire, Chevron-operated Wheatstone, the Commonwealth Recreational Fishing and Camping Facilities Program and the State Government is currently on schedule, and is expected to be completed by mid-2022.
