Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival Update

The Shire of Ashburton and Rio Tinto met together with the Nameless Committee last week to discuss the 2022 Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival.

The Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival is a significant event and calendar highlight for the Tom Price community and has always been made possible by the tireless efforts and passion of the community who put their hand up to join the committee and volunteer their time.

The Committee had voiced their concerns over the feasibility of the 2022 event considering the ongoing and evolving COVID-19 situation, and despite best efforts to communicate with the community, they have not received sufficient response to reform a committee to organise this year’s event.

While we are disappointed that the 2022 event will not take place, we will continue to support the committee in working towards a memorable festival in 2023.

The cancellation of the 2022 event also highlights the importance of volunteers in our regional community, without whom our sports clubs, community associations and organisations cannot continue to thrive.

Both the Shire of Ashburton and Rio Tinto are committed to ensuring the continued liveability and vibrancy of our towns and look forward to supporting the 2023 Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival.
