Have your say on the future of our public libraries

Public libraries play an important role in the community as a free resource for accessing information and a place for knowledge, creativity, and education.

The Shire of Ashburton currently operates four public libraries located in each of our four towns.

To guide the collaborative work of WA public libraries in the next five years, the State and Local Governments in Western Australia have produced a draft statewide Strategy that focuses on:

  • Strengthening communities
  • Digital inclusion
  • Valuing public libraries

To assist in the finalisation of this strategy, the State Library of Western Australia are seeking feedback from community members, people and organisations who work with WA communities to ensure that WA public libraries continue to be a living force for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
