Congratulations to Mr. Peter Foster, MLC-Elect

The Shire of Ashburton extends warmest congratulations to former Councillor Peter Foster on his recent election win.

Mr. Foster joins Stephen Dawson MLC, Kyle McGinn MLC and Rosetta Sahanna who have also been elected to the 41st Parliament of Western Australia representing the Mining and Pastoral region and who will commence in office from 22 May 2021.

Shire President Kerry White congratulated Peter Foster, MLC-elect on his successful election and acknowledged his resignation from Shire of Ashburton council.

“Peter has played a huge role as a councillor since 2011. His contribution to Council and the Shire has been wholehearted and he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment in his representation of the Tom Price Ward”, said Councillor White.

“In his time on Council, Peter has presented and spoke on behalf of the Shire at countless local events, participated in shaping the Shire’s strategic direction and budget, conferred numerous Australian citizenship ceremonies and supported local projects.

“He has also represented the Shire at State and Federal Government conferences and briefings advocating for the Shire and Pilbara region and I have no doubt that he will continue to advocate for growth and support for the North West”.

The Shire of Ashburton is currently awaiting confirmation from the Western Australian Electoral Commission with regards to filling the vacant councillor role that is due to expire in 2023.
