Increased water traffic is expected during the 2023 solar eclipse event, taking place on Thursday 20 April, so it’s important that recreational craft skippers familiarise themselves with port operations.
With large ships entering and leaving port waters, it’s up to you to ensure you and your passengers remain safe. Recreational boat users must adhere to the boating safety exclusion zones and stay well clear of the shipping channel.
You must stay well clear of the shipping channel and large ships, and only cross the channel when safe to do so.
Remember, you’re the skipper, and you’re responsible.
