Learn more about how land is used and developed in your town!

A Local Planning Scheme and Local Planning Strategy are key tools used by local governments to manage land use, development, and growth. They enable the Shire to prioritise goals around growth, amenity, and the environment – ensuring development is well-managed, sustainable, and aligned with community needs.

The Shire of Ashburton is currently advertising its Draft Local Planning Scheme No. 8 and Amendment 1 to the Local Planning Strategy, and we encourage all community members to learn more about how the Shire intends to use land in your town.

We want to speak with you! Come visit our friendly Planning Team at one of our drop-in sessions in your town to learn more, running from 4pm to 6pm. No RSVP necessary.
