The Shire of Ashburton is planning to undertake tree pruning and removal on Second Avenue (between First and Third Street) from Monday 11 September 2017 to Friday 15 September 2017.
Based on recommendations from a recent tree assessment report by an arborist, the trees will be heavily pruned which will result in them looking quite bare. However, in the long term, as they regrow, the trees will recover and will be in a better shape than they are currently. These works also enable streetlight upgrading works to be performed safely and timely as well as maximizing the performance of the streetlights upon installation.
Works will also require the removal of six trees on the main street due to very poor health, in accordance with the arborist’s recommendations.
Traffic management activities are required on the main street during the works to ensure public safety. We apologise for any delays or inconvenience caused due to these works and we will ensure any disturbance will be minimal.
