Published on Monday, 6 August 2012 at 12:00:00 AM

A Shire vehicle has been completely submerged on Four Mile Creek in Onslow today. The incident occured mid-morning when the vehicle became bogged and consequently caught in high tide.

The amount of oil and fuel from the vehicle is not warranted to cause any environmental damage.

A local business has volunteered assistance by providing a jet boat to tow the vehicle from the creek channel into shallow water.

Plans are currently being implemented by the Shire of Ashburton to remove the vehicle as soon as possible.

The immediate response to the incident ensures that any potential environmental impact has been kept to absolute minimum.
