PUPP Onslow Progress Update

Published on Tuesday, 27 June 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

PUPP works in the Town of Onslow are progressing well, with the project on schedule and on budget.

Logsys Power Services, the appointed civil contractor, commenced works in the Light Industrial Area (LIA) and then worked their way up to residential streets that still have aging overhead power lines and poles.  Civil works will soon commence on Second Ave (OCCI end) and on the laneways behind the Shire and Beadon Bay Hotel - which is the last project area to have new underground infrastructure installed.

What happens after civil works?

Every property that will have its power supply placed underground must be inspected to ensure it is compliant with current WA Electricity (Licencing) Regulations, Western Australian Electrical Requirements (WAER), AS/NZS 3000:2007 and the Western Australian Distribution Connections Manual.

An electrician will carry out an initial inspection at each property to identify what work is required to enable connection. We will notify you of any faults however, please be aware that any fault identified is the responsibility of the tenant/homeowner to arrange repair at their expense. Some minor work may also be required to ensure compliance to the new network. To carry out this work safely, we may need to turn off your power supply for a short period, and if access into your property is required, you will be contacted prior to arrange a suitable time. These planned works at your property are covered by the PUPP budget.
