Thursday 10th July 2025
Use basic embroidery stiches to bring new life to your clothing.
The fashion industry is now the world’s second largest contribution to waste. Australian’s buy more clothing per person than any other country. The average Aussie purchases 27kg of new clothing and textiles every year and discard 23kg of that. All this ends up in landfill in third world countries. Choosing to upcycle is a small contribution to saving the planet. In this workshop participants will value add and upcycle a preloved shirt or other item of clothing giving it new life (please bring to workshop). Participants will experience the meditative qualities of slow stitch using basic embroidery stitches to embellish the item.
