Onslow Airport

Onslow Airport

The Onslow airport terminal is a 1200sqm newly constructed building that was designed with Pilbara conditions at the forefront of our thinking. Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) initiatives were focussed on to achieve a state of the art facility for operators, commuters and the general public alike.

The construction and operation of buildings in the harsh Pilbara environment can have a significant, direct and indirect impact on the environment and the overall running costs of that building.  Including ESD initiatives in the design of new buildings can reduce operation costs and environmental impacts and can increase building resilience.

The terminal, which incorporates the following sustainable initiatives;

  • Climate sensitive design
  • Renewable energy system
  • Water efficiency measures
  • Building Management System
  • Wastewater reuse
  • Waterwise gardens
