The Division's obligations and responsibilities broadly include:
Construction and maintenance
- Construction of new and maintenance of existing rural and urban roads, footpaths and drainage
- Maintenance of urban sporting grounds, passive recreation areas, public open space and public street furniture
- Management and maintenance of Councils vehicle and plant fleet
Services
- Operation of waste management and recycling services
- Strategic transport and infrastructure planning and design
- Management of Onslow Airport
Administration
- Maintains the Asset Management System and provides training and advice to staff
- Secures external funding for Council projects
- Provides Contract Administration and Project Management services
- Liaison with government agencies and service providers
