The Shire’s Community Support Grants are provided as in-kind or financial assistance to enable community groups to deliver quality programs, community events and services.

Recently, Council approved Community Support Grants for 12 community organisations across the Shire.

Shire President Kerry White congratulated the recipients and recognised the importance of community support.

“This funding allows clubs to host or travel to regional and state sporting events or championships, purchase new equipment, and partake in professional sports or community development such as clinics, courses and seminars,” she said.

“Community Support Grants allow the groups in all towns to continue offering their services to the people of Ashburton and I encourage all those eligible to apply.”

Those who were successful include:

  • Onslow School P&C Association
  • Pannawonica Darts Club
  • Paraburdoo Toy Library Association
  • Paraburdoo Taipan Cricket Club
  • Paraburdoo Netball Association
  • Tom Price Needle, Sewing and Quilting Club
  • Tom Price Community Garden Inc.
  • Impala Kart Club
  • Tom Price Junior Soccer Club
  • Waitangi Day
  • Tom Price Men’s Softball Association
  • Ashburton Anglers

Residents are advised that the next round of community support grants will once again be open from  Friday 15 July until Wednesday 31 August 2022.
