The annual exhibition of artwork from Local Governments is displayed on the iconic 45-metre-high digital tower at the heart of Yagan Square in Perth City.

Residents are encouraged to create an art piece for the opportunity to represent the Shire as the official 2022 Showcase in Pixels submission.

Submission categories are:

  • Junior primary school(s)(Pre-primary - Year 3)
  • Upper primary school(s) (Year 4-6)
  • Secondary school(s) (Year 7-12)
  • Community group(s) / Non-Professional
  • Professional / Digital

Shire of Ashburton President Kerry White encouraged residents to submit their artwork for the chance to represent the Shire in the competition.

“In 2019 we were proud to have our submission – an artwork created by Year Two students at Tom Price Primary School – selected to be showcased at Yagan Square and I believe we can do it again,” she said.

“This is great opportunity to showcase what makes our Shire such a great place to live, so I encourage artists of all ages to have a go at creating an artwork for submission.”

Artwork must encompass the Shire in its entirety and can be submitted via the Shire of Ashburton website.

Submissions will close at 4pm on Monday August 22.

The Shire of Ashburton Executive Leadership team will then select one artwork overall that will be submitted on behalf of the Shire.

The Shire of Ashburton is proud to deliver this opportunity to the community in partnership with Rio Tinto and the Chevron-operated Wheatstone project.
